  • For 35 years, I suffered from a chronic, often disabling migraine condition. After working with Shohreh for a few months in 2008, I can honestly say that my migraines are 95% better. I am off all preventative medications including the Imitrex Rx that I had taken for 15 years when a headache occurred. In addition, I was able to discontinue caffeine products including Excedrin; and, now am treating any ‘break-through’ headaches with plain aspirin.   • I have Crohn’s a chronic inflammatory bowel disorder. I came to Shohreh by chance. I was told by many friends/colleagues to go see an Acupuncturist. I was calling around to try and find one close to the house and someone who was ‘fit’ for my condition. I was lead to her. She was so welcoming on the phone. This is something I never had done and was a bit intimidated at the thought of doing acupuncture. When we met, I felt as if I had known her my whole life. I began treatment with Shohreh in March of 2006. I was at the time in severe abdominal pain, making literally 20 trips to the bathroom a day. I have two small kids to care for and take places. I was so sick I was not even retaining nutrients, food, or even water at the time. My Crohn’s was called ‘Active Crohn’s’. I had infection in my intestines which was not discovered until I did my colonoscopy several months later. I was dropping weight and needed help fast. I don’t know how to describe how much she has helped. I believe in my heart that she alone has healed me. Even though I have Western medicine going at the same time, she is the one. It’s been a rough year and a half. Crohn’s is very ‘stubborn’ as Shohreh says. Through her advice, candor, support and encouragement I have changed my life style. I have changed my diet, my exercising, and the way I help myself if I have a flare up. She truly is an all-around healer. I learned more about what food can do to my body from her than any nutritionist I have ever met along my 10 year journey with Crohn’s.   • When I began acupuncture with Shohreh I was suffering from a severe broken ankle injury which was very painful. I had undergone two surgeries - a bone graft and the original surgery which left me with a metal plate and screws. I was in a wheelchair for about one year during which time I continued treatment with Shohreh. Although my orthopedic surgeon basically said he had done all he could to foster union of the bone and gave me an unclear prognosis, Shohreh was supportive of my healing during this very difficult time in my life when I didn’t know how well I would be able to walk again. As I was slowly improving, my intuition led me to have the metal plate removed. The metal had broken because the bone grew and compressed it. It was because of my wanting to have the metal out, which Shohreh agreed with, that I discovered that the metal was literally in the way of the bone growing. To my doctor’s disbelief I grew a considerable amount of bone in 5 to 6 weeks after that. I have continued to improve and although I still wear a brace I can now ride my bike again. I attribute the bone growth to the expert care I received with Shohreh and her compassionate encouragement. I highly recommend her.

  • After I was diagnosed with my second bout of breast cancer, I was put on oral chemo and have been dealing with the side effects: joint pain and stiffness, excruciating pain in my right hip and both knees to the extent I was using a cane and was unable to walk more than a few feet. I tried over the counter and prescription pain medications, which also had side effects and did not really alleviate the pain. When I was led to Shohreh Doustani I was so depressed. I sat on my couch every day doing nothing and despaired of having any kind of quality of life. I was very near suicide. Shohreh spent a great deal of time with me during our first visit, taking a more thorough health history than any doctor had ever done. Within six weeks of my first acupuncture treatment, along with her herbs, I was ‘accidentally’ walking off without my cane. I decided to put it away, started walking, and have not needed it since. The pain levels in my joints are only about 10% of what they were. Shohreh is a miracle to me. I have my life back and I am so grateful! I have sent her name to every person I know who is dealing with cancer. She is sweet, kind, gentle and a brilliant healer.
